Rapid Intervention Training

May 19th and 20th The Branford Professional Firefighters Local 2533 had members participate in Rapid Intervention Training (R.I.T.). These members were being instructed by a group of professional firefighters from all around the country lead by Asst. Chief James Crawford – Midway Fire/Rescue formally of the Pittsburgh bureau of Fire. This was a two day intense class composing of learning stations, and live “under stress” realistic scenarios. This class helped members understand the complexities of helping a downed firefighter out of a situation if ever a firefighter needed to be rescued.
